The London Fly Fishing Fair – 22nd & 23rd March 2019

LFFF organiser Fergus Kelley gives you the insight into the third London Fly Fishing Fair at the Business Design Centre in Islington, a show that brings our wonderful sport to the heart of London…

On the 22nd /23rd March 2019 The London Fly Fishing Fair will be hosting its third annual fair in the heart of central London at the Business Design Centre, Islington. Running in conjunction with the London Shooting Fair, which is now into its second year, it is set to host a great line up of exhibitors, demonstrations and talks.

Fly Casting And Fly Tying

This year there are many new casting demonstrations coming to the show and in particular the show welcome’s the Italian style of casting that will be demonstrated on the indoor pool giving visitors an insight to technical casting situations and how to tackle them. There are also many exciting talks and seminars from some of the most interesting people in the industry such as Charles Jardine and many more.

The fly tying section this year sponsored by Veniard’s and has over 20 tyers from all over the UK and Europe. They will be tying a selection of amazing patterns from large predator flies for species such as pike to dry flies for trout, and of course, the beautiful classic salmon flies and modern patterns we all love. Please stop by to speak with the tyers about different pattern styles and techniques, it’s your chance to learn from the very best tyers around.

Embracing Our Sport

This exhibition has been set up to really allow the public to embrace the wonderful art of fly fishing and get a full experience and understanding of all fishing destinations, techniques and skills out there. A great focus at the London Fly Fishing Fair has been introducing new people to the sport, from young to old. Here it is easy for inexperienced fly anglers to get an understanding of casting techniques, fly tying and the different fisheries available. We strongly encourage parents to bring along their children to the show to really help them get a feeling of the sport and its community. We believe at the London Fly Fishing Fair that it is really important to get the new generation into the sport and therefore we are offering free entry to children under 14 years old to the show. It is a great day out with many things to see, learn and buy.

Retailers, Destination Fishing and UK Fisheries

All of your favourite brands will be back at the show such as Fin and Game, Orvis and Patagonia. We also have a number of new travel destinations such at Restigouche River Lodge and a variety of new destinations from Sport Quest Holidays. The show has many new local and UK fisheries joining them, which will hopefully see more people out on the water in 2019.

Head to to find out more.
