TFF reviews the Snowbee XS-Plus Spectre Distance Fly Lines
When I met Snowbee’s Simon Kidd to try the new XS-Plus Spectre Distance line I thought it would be another fly line which would cast well but add no real difference to the distance I would usually achieve. How wrong was I! I tested the 7-wt floating line, a twin coloured (ivory/chartreuse) line on my local playing field with Simon and with little effort I managed to get most of the line out. For me it put at least another five yards on my cast. The line had very little memory and felt smooth in hand when retrieving back. I’ve since used the floating line at Thrunton where distance casting was important and the line performed well, presenting small flies at long range. The floating line feels and casts well and is likely now to be my floating line of choice for 2019.
This is a 120ft line, with a 47ft head and finished with Snowbee’s Nano Technology coating material. It comes in three different densities, floating, Intermediate (2ips) and Fast-Sink (6ips) covering all your needs as a stillwater angler. The floating line is superb to cast and fish with and I’m looking forward to trying the two sinking lines this season. Line range WF 5/6/7/8.
Available from Snowbee or one of its stockists.
