TFF reviews the Wychwood Quick Drain Competitor Bass Bag
Bass bags have certainly moved on over the years from those found centrefold in the middle of your trout bag, to the zipped nylon mesh bags, freebies from the range of trout fishing magazines and the zipped nylon/PVC bags from a range of different manufacturers. Add to that cool boxes, plastic carrier bags and rubber mesh bags and you’ll see a whole host of contraptions for keeping your catch ‘fresh’ at the weigh in of any fly match.
New in 2018 from Wychwood is the EVA constructed Quick Drain bass bag a hybrid between the cool box and modern day bass bag. This bag is 40cm in height, 50cm long and 12.5cm wide – big enough to house a good six to eight fish limit. The bag allows you to hold your catch in water to keep fresh and has a quick drain system for when you want to remove this. It is zipped at the top and has two solid handles for carrying. It is easy to clean and doesn’t smell when not in use! It can also double up for carrying your drogue and clamps to the boat at the start of your session and if you’re unlucky enough not to catch for carrying them back again at the end!
I’ve used this during the last season and have been pleased with it. It keeps your quarry fresh and car free from the smell of fish!
This bag is available from Wychwood stockists.
